No question, just a story . . .
Client, like many others, had a baby in 2008, and was entitled to $300 RRC. IRS reduced her refund by $300 & sent a CP12 notice saying RRC was figured in error. Client called the number on her notice, and spent a few hours chatting with several people, some of whom told her her return was prepared incorrectly. But she was determined, mainly because I was pretty firm that she was due the RRC, and finally got someone who put her on hold for 30 mins, and then agreed, Yes!, she was due the $300. There didn't appear to be anything unusual about her return that would cause this. Weird, but good outcome.
