Toyota Prius Hybrid

Read 3 different places on the IRS website on the credit.One says the credit is still available effective and the other two says no. Client came in with a certifited letter from manufacture stating the QHV credit was available on the 2008 Toyota's. Client purchased the car July 24,2008. Does anyone know if the credit is still available. The TB says no also

They bought the wrong hybrid if they wanted the credit. It phases out based on when the 60,000th car is sold. The Toyota Prius is one of the earliest hybrids, so of the first to phase out. Any purchases after October of 2007 are completely phased out.

but now I have to explain to the client that the dealer was wrong so they can unload on they instead of me.
