    HSA distribution for dental expense

HSA is established for a high deductible health insurance plan. So is dental expense considered 'qualified expense' for HSA purpose?

In the instruction of Form 8889: "Generally, qualified medical expenses for HSA purposes are unreimbursed medical expenses that could otherwise be deducted on Schedule A (Form 1040). See the Instructions for Schedule A and Pub. 502, Medical and Dental Expenses (Including the Health Coverage Tax Credit)."

It appears that you answered your own question.

If there was an HSA distribution and it was all spent on dental expenses you have zero taxable amount.

I wanted to confirm about it because I kept thinking that HSA is for high deductible health policy which covers medical expense. So I wondered if the distribution can be used for dental expense. Now I agree I might have thought too much. Thank you.
