This flyer was just released (on their website) for the company that my husband is a dealer/installer of geothermal heat pumps for.
Take a look at the paragraph on the back of the flyer that is headed "Your 30% Tax Credit".
This is the first I've heard of the credit not being fully refundable on the tax return for the year of installation. Looks as if they are stating that it applies to your current year tax liability and the remainder is carried forward to be used up on future year's tax liability. This is really interesting.
This credit is going to be a huge deal for '09/'10. The savings on system from the efficiency alone can be outstanding. Now you add in the fact that you can get approximately 1/3 of the system cost refunded to you and it seems like a no brainer.
