Client worked for firm that went out of business during the year. Apparently, they did not issue any w-2s. What needs to be done in order to get the return filed?

Do a substitute for W-2 (Form 4852) try and get all the information off the last pay sub if possible. Explain on the form the pertinent information etc. go from there. -
IRS now also requires that the employee report to them the lack of receiving a w-2. Has your client made any attempts to obtain the W-2...that needs to be included on the substitute form. taxeaBelieve nothing you have not personally researched and verified.Comment
