I do need to actually travel and go to some good seminars instead of trying to do it all on-line or by ordering courses.
I'll check with all you guys later to see what some of you are doing.

      New client

My champion referral client sent me a new client last week. She mailed her paperwork to me. Her husband has an s corp and they have their personal return with 2 rental properties.

She sent me 12 months bank statements for the s corp. That is all!!! Nothing else but the bank statements. This will be fun.

My clients are dragging their feet this year too. Haven't looked at it too closely but I know there are quite a few I haven't heard from yet. So I guess I'll be really busy for the next 2 weeks. I HATE doing extensions. I would rather kill my self and be done by April 15th.

Why do so many of you hate extensions? I love them. I'm a one man (or should I say one girl) show...I couldn't possibly finish all these returns before 04/15. I LOVE extensions.
It keeps me in business year round. What do you all do after 04/15 - vacation for 8 months? Curious...maybe I'm missing out on a good thing...

I don't think they are dragging their heals, they are going on TT Online service and playing with their program ( no pay until you print). If it turns out that they are happy with the results they go ahead and file. Costs them about (average) $90 and they are done.

          That's what I think.

They will spend about 3 hrs, for some, but the save $50-$75. TT online has carryover capabilities of prior year info so the following year it is "plug in" current year info, no set up.

            Harland,
Let's see My class reunion is May 16th.
If I drive home on the 15th - and stop to shop, when will I have time to make the food that I am suppose to take???

Hey I'll think about it. I am directionally challenged (for driving) - but I bought a Garmin GPS last year.

I am not even a member of National EA Assn or NC. I guess I should reconsider that.

              I too love extensions

I too love extensions. They allow me to prepare more returns than I can before 15 April and make more money. But, many of my clients came from HRB where they urge you to file by 15 April for Block's personal reasons, but the clients are now trained to think an extension is not allowed or bad or a red flag to the IRS to audit them or.... So, it's a tough sell for me. I started telling people they will have extensions back on 15 March. I thought I could convert one who came in the day before that but was concerned about his fee (self-employed contractor) by offering a $100 discount to go on extension. No way; he's worried the IRS will audit him. $100. Oh, well.
