    Schedule D

IRS, on Jan 14, 2006 clarified schedule D transactions.

IRS will now allow taxpayers to send details on Schedule D transactions along with form 8453 as long as the attachments contain all the schedule D required information and are in similar format.

I'm wondering if form 1099-G (gambling winnings) could be treated this way.

I have no idea what you are talking about

I suppose you could think of government payments as kind of a gamble, but basically I have no idea what you are talking about. You don't itemize transactions on gambling winnings (or govenment payments).

      W2g

Aren't gambling winnings reported on W2G? If efiling I believe they want the information for each transaction, much the same as a W2.

        I agree...

It sounds like you want to send a supporting schedule showing all 1099-Gs to support the total gambling winnings you report? I think if you're electronically filing, that you have to enter each 1099-G separately. (a) I never tried to over-ride that field and (b) I never had any clients who had more than 3 1099-Gs in winnings and (c)I never had a client report winnings that weren't on a 1099-G (If they did, I would just enter the total and keep the schedule in my file.)
