    CT tax preparers....

I am amending a 2007 tax return for which the spouse of the taxpayer was a PY resident. On the CT-1040NR/PY it ask if the spouse needs to file form CT-8379 (this sounds like an e file authorization form for CT) and it also ask if my client needs to file a form Sch CT-1040 CRC.

    What are these forms for?

    Non-obligated Spouse Claim

      Sorry

Sorry, don't know the CT-1040 CRC. Maybe the way your program abbreviates. Open it to find out what it's all about. Then, let us know.

Actually the CT-1040CRC is what the official form says.

          "Claim of Right Credit"

Appears to be used when you excluded income from CT and then were forced to pay it back in the current tax year. See the link for information on it's purpose and who should file.
