    Amending Return

I am having to amend a tax return in regards to the appropriate application of a deduction. Do I need to attach a print out of a IRS Notice showing the correct way to apply a deduction? Or is simply citing the notice number enough in the explanation?

    Thank You

    No Such Print-out necessary

No point in printing out regs and stuff.

What is more likely to be concern to IRS is not the deductibility of the
    expense but its existence.

If you were to attach anything, it might be a receipt of the expense in
question. If the expense contains voluminous receipts, I would not attach
    them.

Thanks Snag. This deals with investment interest that should have been deducted as business interest on Schedule E. Wasn't sure how detailed I needed to get on the explanation.
