Your opinion please
I have a client who is unmarried and he and his significant other are in the middle of adoption. The adoption is expected to be fnal in May.
He absolutely will get a refund for federal and state, even with out claiming the child.
The child was placed in Dec, right after birth. However they do not want to get the social security card until they can have the child's proper name on the card after adoption.
My question is, should I file the return by April 15 and then he has to pay to amend to claim the child a month later, or should I have him just wait and file in May?
