      Trouble in Paridise

This Web CD user can't find anything new on the downloads page. There is of course the 2-2 update for anyone who doesn't already have it.

Try going to the website, then go to view in your menu bar and click refresh.

By the time I saw your post I had made the update work through the link in the email that came but I I tried what you said and it worked. I had to slightly adapt what you said - I guess you assumed I had IE but I don't use IE unless it is for something I can't avoid doing and can't do in Firefox such as Windows Updates.

              No Refresh

When I open up the Web CD, the application is in Adobe .pdf format, and offers no "Refresh" option under "View" or anywhere else that I can find.

Is there a page on TTB update website that I must refresh? Apparently others
haven't had the problem. Computer illiteracy is alive and well here.

Snags I will try to help

Open your web CD and you're right you are in PDF Format.

Click "Update Content" and you are still in PDF Format.

Click the blue words in the sentence "Click here to update this web cd."

You are now in your browser not in PDF Format or at least I am in my browser not in PDF Format. Depending on your browser there should be an option somewhere to refresh the page or update the page. Do that if the newest update is not already showing.

You might also have the problem of your PDF viewer trying to view web pages in PDF format. The WebCD download page has this solution to the problem:

Some versions of Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat) may try to open this web page as page two of a PDF document. To download the update file, you may have to open this web page through your Internet Browser (not through Adobe). If you are reading this page through Adobe Reader as page 2 of an open PDF document, copy and paste the address below into your Internet Browser, and close all open PDF documents (displayed on the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen). Then proceed with downloading the update file.

You can also get to the WebCD updates page outside of Adobe Reader by clicking on links above and then TheTaxBook WebCD links.

I am unable to get the page to load no matter what I try. Is there a problem? I use Firefox and I don't have the WebCD. Have never had any problem getting my updates. What am I missing?

                    Thanks.

                      I can't view either, getting a 500 server error.

Response to myself: I d/l everything from my computer that uses the explorer browser and adobe reader instead of Firefox and my other PDF reader. Long as I have it, guess it doesn't matter much the source.

I am new to Firefox, but I have discovered when I have an update to download and install. I will use Internet Explorer, and it works fine. In Firefox, I have not figured out where and how to do the install part.
