    Education Credits.

For kids who are still in high school and taking the dual college credits, the only education credits available would be the tuition deduction or lifetime learning credit. ??
    Either one would work??

Tuition deduction would not work, must have a high school diploma or GED
    See TTB 12-2

    Tuition and Fees Deduction*
Tuition and fees required for enrollment
or attendance at an eligible educational
    institution.
    Taxpayer, spouse, or dependent claimed
    on taxpayer’s return:
    • Enrolled in one or more courses at an
    eligible educational institution.
    • Has a high school diploma or GED.

for the last year of high school which corresponds with first year of college. then the
total is allowed for the credit.

          Harlan,

Where could I find that exception to the rule.
I am not familiar with that one and my son is doing that exact thing this year.
Although for us the school district picks up the cost so it is free credits. He will have 20 hours of credit already when he graduates HS.
I also did not think you could take any education CREDIT while in HS.
          Thanks
