    OT: Your Parnormal Equipment

Working on taxes with Ghost Hunters on SciFi channel showing. Goes to commercial and they show a Turbo Tax commercial showing a couple with paranormal trouble. They had bought cameras and other recording devices to catch their ghost. A man appeared and told them that their paranormal equipment may be deductible on their taxes if they go into business. Its all in TT

          Good Grief!!

...and a $25,000 prize to boot!!

This one competes with the HRB Cyclops Second Look commercial ["I can't believe my eye"]

Guys and gals, perception (and not necessarily truth) rules the world. Those with the resources to create perception with innovative methods are going to attract customers.

If we want to compete favorably, we've got to bring to the customer something that the large companies cannot offer.

We can whine all we want about huge companies that we think are Leviathon. We can't compete with their resources. But we can offer personalized service and customize our expertise such that we can bring things to the table that these companies can't do.

Free enterprise. It is said that subject knowledge is not enough -- we must develop image as well.

I totally agree. I've had several new customers ask me what I could offer them that some of the large cpa firms, the tax franchises, TT could not. I always say I offer personalized service. If they have a problem they can call and talk to me. I don't mind answering their questions. I sit down and explain the tax return to them (it seems many don't do this). So this year I've found myself pointing out alot of what I can offer them that my competitors can not. If the competitors are more suited for the customer then I tell them to go there.

I have to say the commercials they come up with do catch the consumer's eye.

              Special Equipment

I wonder if any of that equipment could be used to detect unreported income?

Or if the devices are capable of finding honest politicians?
