    Mileage reimbursement to S/H employee

This is probably a stupid, easy question.

If corp. owns several trucks used by corporation they need to use actual expenses. If corp. reimburses vehicle expenses to employees including the shareholder can they do this using the SMR?

I think they can but something doesn't feel right about it.

If they are reimbursing vehicle expenses for a vehicle the employee personally owns, then yes, they can use actual or SMR. If the company owns the trucks, and the employees use them and pay for their own gas, etc, then, no, the company cannot reimburse SMR, since that calculation includes depreciation.

Thanks. Do you think this would also be true (being able to use SMR) if shareholder/employee had - let's say - 3 vehicles in his name - and 2 of them are used by other employees of the company?
