Is anyone else having problems with Election Boards this year? I am having problems with two in my area (greater KC, MO). In the past there was no reporting from the boards. The workers just reported the pay on line 21, 1040.
One board issued a W-2 with the only money figure in box 1 ($615). That seemed OK, but when I efiled the returned is rejected. I found out IRS deactivated the EIN for non-use.
Another board issued a 1099 with an amount ($620) in box 7 - nonemployee compensation which is clearly wrong.
What gives with election boards?
