    Eic

question ---As long as child lives with parent, they qualify for EIC and child tax credit. correct???The only one they could not qualify is for HOH unless they provided the support.

The taxbook says it would go to mom if they lived with boyfriend, so mom could get EIC and child tax credit and dependent.

Support not required for HOH --- paying over half the cost of keeping up a home is the test. TTB 3-13, 14 & 18.

Based on the information you gave, the only scenario I see in which she couldn't claim all of the tax benefits is if the noncustodial parent gets to claim the exemption. Then he gets the CTC, but the mom can still claim EIC. Otherwise, she gets them all.

If I remember right, TTB says neither she or the boyfriend qualify for HOH.
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.
