First Time Buyer Date

What a mess. New client today, they have only been married one year. They purchased a used home on MARCH 11, 2008 (Closed escrow, signed papers, title passed). Date for the $7500 first time credit APRIL 9, 2008. Are there any loop holes that might work to help them get the credit? Any and all suggestions etc. will be taken under advisement.

Maybe you could use the Geither/Daschle rule. Other wise I would say no way to get credit.
