    Proseries E-File Problem

    Hi,

    I'm having an issue filing a return and can't figure out how to fix it. I wanted to see if any one else has had this problem. I'm using ProSeries and received an alert today that the original CD they sent out back in December had some incorrect state information on it (2007 instead of 2008 info.). I updated my software with the link it listed and informed me that I had the current software and any of my returns that I've already filed will not be affected.

    Then I went to E-file a return and it came back rejected for a duplicate DCN. I read on how to fix that and did (I have it automatically generate DCN's so it must have been just a glitch).

    I tried to E-File again and the state went through just fine, but the Federal came back rejected saying "your version of ProSeries is no longer current". It goes on to say that in order to file any returns, I must update my software and it gives instructions on how to do that. Well, I already did that this morning, but I did it again. I received no new updates. I tried to E-File again. I've tried sending it a half dozen times now and it keeps coming back saying the same thing. Any thoughts? I'm getting a little frustrated.

      Becky> This is a Proseries problem> stay on the phone with them to resolve. Only they can help you, even if you have to reinstall the program.

        Did this happen to all of your fed returns?

        I'm using Proseries also and have had about a dozen accepted without the problem you mentioned (knock on wood). I was just curious if the problem surfaced suddenly on you.

          very suddenly.....

          I have filed others earlier this week with no problem. They were accepted and all is good. I am dreading contacting ProSeries because of their new outsourcing. My husband and most of my family are union workers and it's a huge irritation. I quit selling Avon after 4 years leaving behind 150 customers because of the outsourcing that was going on. And I haven't walked into a Walmart (my ex-fav store) or a Sams Club in over 3-1/2 years.

          I got a little off subject, but I am explaining why I went here for help rather than ProSeries first. I will post what went wrong when I figure it out. Thanks!

            Thanks for the link but I had received that a while back as well and already did what it stated when I got it. I'll try it again. I can't figure why I've transmitted some and now it decides to not work. And so it begins................

              I tried the ProSeries re-install again........

              and it worked this time when I went to re-transmit the return. Why? Got me. I just hope it doesn't decide to change it's mind on me again. Thanks for the input.
