I am wondering if I can backup a QB file from my 2008 Quickbooks Premier Accountants Edition, and Restore it into 2009 Quickbooks Pro. I sure hope so, my client just lost his data with no backup.

Yes
You client should be able to restore with your copy of the file, even though you have Accountant's Premier and the Client has Pro.
I have done it frequently with a client when we were emailing info back and forth. Altho I was using the same year version, i.e. QB Accountant Premier 2008 to clients QB Pro 2008. So not sure how it will work with the client on 2009 version.
Client just can't open some reports that you have access to in the Accountant's Premier Edition.
