I have a client that has had her child enrolled in an after school program while she is at work. In the past she has used this an an expense for the child care expense credit. This year the school that her children attend is offering the after school program and she is writing the check out directly to the school. Can she still use this expense?

Yes
As long as she is careful to claim only amounts that are for the after school care and not to include any amounts for tuition or other fees she can still claim the credit. If the school is at all on the ball they will issue her a receipt fairly soon for what she paid in 08.Last edited by erchess; 01-21-2009, 03:07 PM.
