    Mailing Forms

Is it necessary to mail NOL papers to IRS when efiling. At one time it was required that you send NOL papers with an 8453 to the IRS. Thanks

The 8453 is no longer mailed to the IRS. It is kept in your file along with all other forms required to be attached to it. taxea
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

Taxea-that is news to me--could you point me to where you got your information.

Instruction still say mail in form.

If you are an ERO, you must mail Form
8453 to the IRS within 3 business days
      after receiving acknowledgement that the
IRS has accepted the electronically filed
      tax return.

I understand that you would mail the Form in, only if you have attactment.

8453 is a non signature transmittal form for certain attachments that relate to an electronically file 1040. Google 8453 to see the types of forms required.

Here is my google: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8453.pdf Be sure to read the instructions.
