Black Bart...my point exactly. If there isn't a real good reason for the W-2 not being available...I tell the client I will put their return on hold and their job is to contact the employer and the IRS if the employer is late or not cooperative.
Used to be that the IRS didn't require the employer being reported but I see from the form that the employee report to the IRS is their first requirement now. I think the IRS is trying to catch up quickly with employers that are not filing payroll reports. taxea
