One of my favorite columnists & first-rate thinkers, Charles Krauthammer, wrote a very informative column concerning the current economic situation. The title is "From Market Economy to Political Economy" and it's dated Nov 28. The only way I know to access his columns is to register at The Washington Post, but it's worth registering just to get access to his thinking on a regular basis. As usual, he provides food for thought and some genuine insight into current events.

Here is a website you can find his articles, as well. Someone posted a link to one of his articles on the economy or politics (not sure which one) last month, but I cannot find it for you. It was very good, as usual.
I watch him all the time on Fox Special Report w/Brit Hume and like his commentary very much, which is fair, unbiased and what I want.

Mine, too.

Nice thing about this freebie site is you can access all columns back to '99 and (joan-take note) they offer all noted conservative columnists extant. Only thing, it's tough on your conscience 'cause little JWR donation requests keep poppin' up and while I haven't come across yet, I've got good intentions (I swear I do). Meantime, I've sneakily avoided the issue by creating a desktop icon for his column and staying away from the home page, but...wait a minute...do you suppose it would be heresy or sump'n if I, a rabidly fanatical flog-the-churchdoor Christian, contributed to a Jewish website? Obviously I couldn't compromise on principles...hmm...there may be a way out of this...Last edited by Black Bart; 12-01-2008, 02:18 PM.

Dennis & Bart: Thanks for that link. I think I'll save it.
I've found the best way to access a variety of columnists (both Liberal and Conservative) is to set the Drudge Report as a favorite. Scrolling down to the bottom center of the page gives you a host of links in alphabetical order, and believe me it covers the field. It is necessary to register one time on some sites, but that's a small price to pay to get constant access. When you can read an article by Susan Estrich and then with two clicks jump to Walter Williams, you've pretty much covered all the bases."The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectful" - John Kenneth Galbraith
