    The first Thanksgiving

sort of in North America was in St. Augustine, Sept.8, 1565. 800 Spanish settlers along with natives from the Seloy tribe.

The meal probably included salted pork and garbanzo beans. Hard sea biscuits and red wine. mmmmm

According to one researcher there was an earlier thanksgiving in 1513 upon the arrival of Ponce de Leon.

The french got into the act in 1562 when they arrived in St. Johns river near Jacksonville.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.
