    Student Visa

    Good afternoon all.

My married taxpayers are support the sister of the wife. The sister is 24, full-time student but....she is here on a student Visa from Morocco. Does the sister meet the citizen or resident test in order to be claimed as a dependent of my taxpayers?
I have never had this situation before.

I will also have some additional questions later regarding social security income when retired and living in a foreign country. Just something to think about or if someone has alot of knowledge with foreign living and income. I can email off the board if preferred.

    Thanks for your help.

As long as she is living in the United States legally, she would be considered a resident for purposes of the dependent deduction.
