    Presidential Poll

Without scuffling about who's the best person for the job or violating board decorum, let's test the shrewd political perception of this bookish bunch. Who do you think is going to win?

I see we're voting Chicago style, so does that mean my dead uncle can vote in this poll?

One serious thought. I just hope that whichever way this presidential election goes, it isn't a squeaker. I would like to see a clear and decisive winner in the electoral and popular vote, with sufficent totals to dispel any arguments on either side about whether isolated incidents of voter fraud or questionable counts would affect the outcome.

      Sqeakers cause problems.

And, no matter which candidate wins, my dad you always support the President and the Office. You can criticize him, you can write your complaint to him, and you can vote against him next time. But you never hate the President.

I just got back from voting. Lines were 10 minutes. Too bad NY is a Deocratic state, o well.

12,000+ CPAs Voted and here are the results. NY was one of the states that picked Obama.

          Well

          overall CPAs are pretty smart.

I'd give New York back to the English.

I think we may have a situation similar to 2000 election. Last week the newspapers were already stating that approximately 5000 votes here in Georgia are questionable.

Where is the "None of the above" choice?
In other words, a democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it.

                Ballots rigged

I think that the ballots were rigged here in Arkansas. I looked all over the ballot twice and could not find "Joe the Plumber" anywhere. Maybe it's because they thought he was a daggum yankee.
Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

                  Just as I figured

Accountant types, including Ea's naturally, are prone to vote for McCain. This was also
the result of the poll I ran over on the NAEA Webboard.

well they didn't poll me. McCain's understanding of tax is about nil. And if I hear the terms 'socialist' or 'spread the weath' ever again its too soon for me.

Yeah, I'd like to never hear the words "spread the wealth" again.
By the way, where did we hear it first in this campaign?

                            Bob:
                            Looks like you nailed it.

I have to add one comment. This election process is one of the many things I love about this fantastic country. Every 4 years we organize a revolution. It's messy and ugly at times, but it works fairly well. Sometimes we throw out the current crowd and other times we more-or-less choose the status quo. But when the revolution is over we don't execute the old crowd & their families or riot in the streets. Even though my favored people didn't do so well this time around, my day won't change very much tomorrow and the world isn't coming to an end. I'll still go to work and do my job just like I did today, as will most of the rest of those on this forum. Regardless of how anyone feels about the outcome, we should all be thankful that we are privileged to live in the greatest nation in the world. I certainly am.

                              Same here, John

Except that tomorrow I'll be busy burying guns and enough money and canned goods in the backyard to tide us over until the redistributionistas come calling with their brand new government issued metal detectors
