Family definitely should be taxable. In CA there is a big brouhaha about certain legislators that take non taxable per diem while in Sacramento even though they live here. Doesn't smell right to me at all. For any of us it would be taxable income.
Jeez she makes a good salary; she couldn't afford her own clothes?

Me 'n Sluggo
She probably needed professional-looking clothing to project the proper image. No telling of what her wardrobe consisted prior to being the VP nominee.
After the likes of Margaret Thatcher, she really looks good. Me 'n Sluggo sometimes wish she would take off her glasses and let down her hair...

You people don't get it! This isn't tax money. She is spending money (spreading the wealth) which is what our economy needs. Just like those complaining about the Obama's ordering lobster from room service. Who cares. This could also be considered training since one of them will deciding how to spend your tax money very soon.

Backwards
I think the media has it backwards. I think the point is that the real Sarah, even Gov. Palin, did NOT have the wardrobe the RNC thought she needed for national TV. Neither did her family. The Palin closets probably look much like mine! The RNC felt so strongly that her wardrobe and that of her family needed refurbishing for campaigning that they spent RNC monies on it at a time when the McCain campaign has less to spend than the Obama campaign on advertising. The Palins did NOT normally shop at Saks and Neiman's, but had to be sent there by the RNC to present the image the RNC wanted that family to present to the public.

But isn't that the point - they appear to be big spenders, whether it be tax dollars or not. If they can spend so frivously why should we trust that they are to cut spending when it comes to our tax dollars?
I'm sorry if I sound "sexist", but how much will the taxpayers be spending to take Gov Palin and her family all over in and out of the country if she becames VP? I don't question the ability to raise a family and work full time, but I do question how my tax dollars will be used.
If I had an employer besides myself would they be obligated to pay for my family's expenses? If I need to go out of town for business, let's say a five hour conference in NY, should my boss pay $707 a night for three nights?

Palin
Since all sense of reason, truth, experience and anything else we're supposed to be using to judge a candidate has gone out the window, I've just decided to judge my choice on who looks the best, no matter the cost.
I know it's shallow, but since I feel we can't win for losing, I've given in and just set my principles aside and have gone with what's easiest for me at this point.
I vote for Palin because she looks so hot and puts a smile on my face each time I see her on TV!
