Snaggletooth - Come on ! You really worried about getting sued for giving advice on here. I mean please you have what I suspect is not your real name "snaggletooth or snaggletoof" (if it is your real name than I am sorry.) Secondly no one says that you have to give the real name of your client or any personal info about the client or you. So saying I don't want to register because I am worried about being sued is laughable.

In fact I would like to start another poll if I knew how. It would be how many of us have ever been sued for giving tax advice or because of some engagement due to tax. I suspect you find it is minimal if not zero.

The biggest reason I thought it would be nice to make people register is because it helps the threads flow more smoothly . Also it helps provide some character for this board unlike another tax book websites which is full of UR's and not worth reading.

It appears OldJack has decided to leave us and post as an unregistered guest. The IP address of this post matches that of OldJack's previous posts.

To the real ♠♠♠♠, I suggest you register if you do not want OldJack or anyone else impersonating you.

As one of the moderators of this message board, the program gives me access to every computer’s IP address that posts on this message board. This information is kept confidential, and is only used by us so that we can block a computer from visiting this web site if there is abuse.

For example, this message board has experienced a recent wave of spammers posting as both unregistered and registered users, linking to pornographic web sites and other spamming. Some of these computers have been traced to China. This kind of abuse results in immediate banishment from our web site as we simply add their IP address to a list that is blocked by our internet service provider. We also look at the IP address of unregistered guests who cause trouble by insulting other posters. If the abuse continues, they can be blocked as well.

No computer is completely anonymous in cyber space. Every web site you visit leaves a computer finger print. Just a word of caution for anyone who thinks they can surf the net without anyone knowing who they are.

I would hope that people realize this message board is mutually beneficial for all. Participants receive free access to the knowledge and experience of other participants. We in turn draw people to our web site in hopes of stimulating book sales. It should be no surprise that we would prefer everyone have access to this message board. We hope that everyone appreciates the benefits of using this message board, and that there is a need on our part to keep it professional and dignified. Please understand, we cannot tolerate abuse.

OldJack is still here. I just decided to see how easy it is to post as someone else if you call symbols being someone else. I made the post obvious as one would not question ones own answer. Is there some forum rule I am not aware of?

Interesting as to why you would be checking my post by way of IP ?? Its nice that you can do that but the rest of us don't have that privilege.

Bees, if I had been trying to hide from anyone I would have used one of my other computers on a different IP. Sorry you feel like bashing me to the other board members.

If you think this board is so terrible go somewhere else and try to prove whatever it is you're trying to prove here.

I didn’t bash you OldJack. You are the one who said:

I simply exposed your little attempt at trying to mess around by impersonating someone else.

Why don’t you settle down and pick a tax topic for you and me to argue about. I’m sure that will make everyone feel better.

I guess I missed it when you exposed others. I'm glad you are enjoying this. No, you made it a point to bash me as you would like for me to not be around to argue with you. Yes, arguing tax is enjoyable and this kind of subject is not.

I was well aware of how the IP address and the internet works and could have easily hidden if that was my intent. I dare say I was building and using computers when you were in diapers, not to imply that I know everything.

You obviously have a suspecious mind making you a good tax professional. How did you like the unregistered's opinion that said I should go somewhere else. Maybe you could check that IP and consider if that should be blocked?

For the record, yes I plan to post as OldJack and as Unregistered in the future as there appears to be some benefit to both. Is that a problem?

                        Monitor,
I guess the best way to please some of us on this message board is to delete some of the posts that name Oldjack as a impersonator. In addition, I will quit using the symbol ♠♠♠♠

                          Geesh!

By using your name or ficticius name, it is something that you can hang your hat on. When I look for assistance on this board, I kind of respect the advice from those that are registered, such as Old Jack and Bees Knees versus someone who just gives a response as unregistered. You develop a following. I do appreciate the editors of this board watching those that post that darn spam and obscene stuff and block those that abuse this free board.

Old Jack I for one do not think this , and I bet many others here would not want you to leave . You have provided this forum with many good thoughts and ideas.

Of course UR could have been refering to me.
