Long story short, I went on vacation, came home and found out my NYstate tax payment had been mailed out. That check overdrafted my bank account. I instantly transfered money in there. The NYstate hotline # is closed for today and I am wondering what will happen now. It appears as though the check was cashed okay but that can't be so if there was not enough money in my account before today. Will the state just resubmit the check? I know the IRS typically resubmits it and may just charge a small fee. Will NY state be the same or will I have to mail out a new payment?
