Big holiday this week for Texas. Parades, B-B-Qs, parties, celebrations all over the place.
June 19, 1865 is the day that the slaves were freed in Texas. Almost 3 yrs after Abraham Lincoln delivered the Emancipation Proclamation , which freed the slaves.
