I don't do many Rhode Island tax returns, but the IRS just announced certain counties are being given until July 15 to file and pay:
Does anyone know if the Rhode Island Department of Revenue would normally extend their deadlines when the IRS does?
I will likely file extension requests anyway but this gives them additional time to pay any balance due as well.
Thanks.
Following the disaster declaration issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), individuals and households that reside or have a business in Kent, Providence and Washington counties qualify for tax relief. The declaration permits the IRS to postpone certain tax-filing and tax-payment deadlines for taxpayers who reside or have a business in the disaster area. For instance, certain deadlines falling on or after Jan. 9, 2024, and before July 15, 2024, are granted additional time to file.
