    Hsa limits

2017 Husband and wife have a family plan eligible for HSA Both are over 55. Wanting to be sure we put the right amount into the HSA Husband's HSA is open, want to put $6750 + $1000 catch up in his account. Wife will open her HSA account and put in her $1000 catch up for a total of $8750. Is this correct?

There is an IRS publication that appears to answer your question. I want to ask if you looked there, but I won't. :-)

"If both spouses are 55 or older and not enrolled in Medicare, each spouse's contribution limit is increased by the additional contribution. If both spouses meet the age requirement, the total contributions under family coverage cannot be more than $8,750. Each spouse must make the additional contribution to his or her own HSA."
