    C Corp Investments as part of treasury share purchase

    A C Corp wants to use investment securities to purchase sales of one stockholder. Is the value of the shares the FMV? the Cost? or does the existence of gain or loss determine which? e.g. If a gain the FMV is used and corp reports the gain. If a loss Cost is used and no loss is recognized
