Being from MA, the issue of not having health insurance rarely comes up. My client started the year off as single with no insurance. In August he married and in October he went on her health insurance policy. He netted $34,000 from his SE business in 2014. His wife made $80,000. He did not make his mortgage payments in 2014 but he did pay all his utility bills and his real estate taxes were paid by the bank. Is there anything I should explore in terms of getting them off of the $700 penalty?
