I have not been around. I know, you missed me. My tax season started out with Bronchitis and two hard drives failing on my computer. One was my encrypted backup drive, the 2nd an external backup drive. Both Western Digital. My boot drive also experienced some faults that i was able to repair but seriously made me nervous and ......
That was enough problems for a year - Never mind January.
I started to build a new system. I build from scratch - custom on all components.
Here is my system that will bring me into next season:
- Windows 7 Ultimate - 64-bit
- Intel i5 Processor
- 16 GB very fast DDR3 RAm
- 120 GB SSD Boot Drive - Operating System only {for most part}
- 500 GB Hybrid for Applications
- 2 TB Data Drive
- Surround Sound Speakers [6 speakers in all]
- 23" 1080i Main Monitor
- 19" 2nd monitor
- 32" 1080i TV/Monitor - Wall Mounted {waiting area}
Boot time on this system from the point of turning on is 9 seconds.
Applications open like OMG fast!
Movies are awesome during down time 8-
Or I can play one on the 32" drive clients that are waiting - Or promo videos {You Tube: IRS, etc).
I am soo impressed with the performance of the SSD drive that I will NEVER build another computer that does not have an SSD hard drive. While they are still expensive you can get a great system up and running. My next post will breakdown costs.
