Not thinking so need a boost. A client is taxed on $43485 that is what box 1 shows. He went to school and on his check STUB you will see the $23000 that is in the earnings breakdown and then shows the gross amount of $70267. It is the amount of the education that is not showing up on W-2 even not in social security or medicare. He will have to pay it back IF he quits within 3 years. Do I take the education or not? I'm telling myself NO but what if he hast to start paying it back - deduct it then? Could use a boost in the help department. Thanks - few days left and starting to panic.
