Here are a few things you can do to improve computer peformance...
1) Most computers today come with a VGA card built into the motherboard. 9/10 times you will improve performance by having a dedicated processor to take care of the graphics.
Eash to install - Costs $30 - $500 depending on type. An average $40-$70 card will do fine unless you're a gamer!!
2) memory - try to have 4 gigs if at all possible. System does not have to work as hard.
3) Hard Drive. Most computers have one hard drive. Add another. Put your data on the 2nd drive. More heads writing data = faster work completion.
4) Monitor - Get a 21+ inch LCD - Just so much easier on the eyes.
