Kindle and Web Portal

It was a gift from my wife. She did all the research and decided it was the right one for me. I don't have Iphones, Ipods or Ipads and frankly, don't need them. The Kindle does everything I want or need. I was at a CPE seminar today and downloaded a newspaper to read during the breaks. You can also download music to play in the background, but I have it just for reading. The other features are just "icing on the cake!" -
I don't know who you are asking, but I got it just to read books. I also like the dictionary. And it wasn't too expensive. But people are telling me not to buy one now, wait about a year and all kinds of new features will be added. That's OK, because I like it. I don't have an ipod or anything like that so pretty tech challenged.Leave a comment:

Why did you choose the Kindle over the other options?
My wife has the Nook color and is able to download books directly from the library. I was told (could be incorrect) that Kindle prohibits that at least for now.Leave a comment:

Next to the space bar on the right side is a key labeled Aa, This will adjust your fonts from the default to one size smaller up to huge. It opens a screen to show what is available and you just move the underline to the size you want. Plus there are other options there for line spacing etc.Leave a comment:

I'm trying to figure out how to change the font size - may I ask you?Leave a comment:

I got one for Christmas. The 3G one, and you can access the web with no charge. It is difficult to use unless you increase the font size. Other than that, it is great. It took about 2 minutes to connect it to my home wireless network (which is faster than the 3G). I have tried it out around town and have had zero problems accessing 3G. I actually accessed this board and a couple of others and by changing the font, which is easy, sat in the car and read a couple of posts.Leave a comment:

Kindle and Web Portal
Trying to find an excuse to buy a Kindle. Have not ever seen it used, but looks good.
Can you use the Web Portal on it? It does access the internet right?Tags: None
