Taxpayer received a Form 1099-A because of a credit card debt. But there is no Form 1099-C. And they also said on the Form 1099-A that the borrower was personally liable for repayment of the debt. So they seem to say the debt has not been forgiven yet. So the Form 1099-A has no tax consequence in 2009. Am I correct? But if that's the case, why would they sent out the Form 1099-A? Puzzling...
