I just got back from a federal update seminar with a senior tax specialist for our area. He told us that if the client is getting a refund without the credit to efile the return and once they've received their refund to amend for the homebuyer's credit.
When I told him about the discussion here a little bit ago regarding that issue,he said to let the client make the decision. As long as the client is good with it, the IRS is too. He said that the IRS is taking up to 16 weeks to process original requests.
