Partnership?
By the way, partnerships are not due Monday. Corporations are, though. Are you filing a partnership with a person's last name and SSN? How long ago did she change her name? Maybe her old name is still in the computer. I still don't understand how that affects a partnership...

No this is the spouse's name on her SS card that is hay wire. It will not go through because of HER name that is it. Everything else is fine but that. It comes back as spouse's name and I have tried so many different ways till I don't know what her real name is on it. I would really like to find out because I am running out of names and time. If it's rejecting for the partnership name/EIN, there's also a "name change" check box that could push it through. Of course if you have the wrong EIN, that could change the name for someone else's partnership... Did they actually change the partnership name?Leave a comment:

wait a minute~
You say it is a partnership? Then it's partnershp's name and EIN that matters, not
the owners' social security numbers.
With a POA you can call practitioners' hotline and find out correct spelling IF it's
partnership's name that is the problem.Leave a comment:

You culd also paper file if you just can't get it to go through electronically.Leave a comment:

Call the IRS efile center. They can tell you what is being rejected and how to list the name.Leave a comment:

4 Rejects!!!
Have a client decided to change name on SS. She has 4 names on it and each time I put the name in it gets rejected. Tried it 4 times now. She has her madien name plus an hyphen her married name and 2 intitals on it plus her first full name. I am getting very beside myself because it is a partnership and due Monday.
So now what? Her SS # is correct but her funny long (stupid) name isn't. Can't seem to satisfy the IRS with any name.
to what to do now.
