I believe I can still e-file an initial 2014 tax return, correct? Does that also pertain to 2014 Trust returns as well?

This is a message from my software company about prior year returns that came from IRS:
Prior year 2014 returns can be electronically filed beginning January 25, 2016. Please note, the IRS has not yet announced what prior year returns beyond 2014 can be electronically filed at this time.Comment

Wonder where your software company got the 1/25 date? Doesn't match anything I've ever seen. The IRS has already made it clear that "for any given processing year, MeF will accept returns for the most recent tax year and two prior tax years. For example, during processing year 2016 Form(s) 1120/1120S/1120-F can only be e-filed for TY 2015, TY 2014 and TY 2013.
