Revised Ques re SEP-IRA age limit

Can a self-employed person who is over 70 1/2 establish a SEP-IRA for himself? Or is the SEP-IRA subject to same age limit as traditional IRA?

    yes

a self employed person may participate, but must also take minimum distributions as required.

I agree that a self-employed person (with self-employment income) over age 70½ can make a SEP-IRA contribution (not an IRA contribution) but also must withdraw their minimum distribution.
