    Limited Power of Attorney

    Hi folks,

I have never before asked a client for a power of attorney (limited to tax matters). Although the client i'm thinking of will probably gladly sign it.

But before I ask, I'd like to know is it possible (although stupid) for a CPA to rip off a client and somehow get a hold of $$$$ which is credited to his account with the IRS or the state? I'm thinking that it's probably possible but NOT easily concealed.

    Your thoughts?

    As I recall...

.... there is a box on the 2448 that allows the POA ( rep) to receive a check. But the check should come in with the T/P name.

      Thanks Bob.

Thanks. Knowing that little detail will make him even more likely to sign. (The chances of me needing this 'receive client refund' are slim and none)
