    Deceased Client

I have a client whose son died in 2005. He was her dependent, but also earned wages and has a refund coming to him.

Is there a special procedure I should take so that the refund will be payable to his mother?

I also suspect that such a special procedure will not be eligible for efiling.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    1310

Complete a 1310 and attach to the return.

      Still a pretty normal return

Other than the 1310 that is!
and it is a mail in return, not efileable!! takes a couple extra weeks!
Usually you don't have to send Death Certificate and Legal papers! but if you have them send a copy, it always help to have proof already there!

and any special discounts you give the grieving family members!

I've done a few 1040ez's free myself (and a few more difficult ones)
never an enjoyable thing, Would have to do one next year, but he retired at end of last!
only about 6 months Social security had to worry about!
