How do you handle the back filing 4 years for the request from the Ca. state attorney general, besides just filing the back forms? What kind of letter would you attach as it was an oversight by the client

The non-profit is fine in with the IRS and the state. No notification as yet just trying to get ahead as a just in case. I checked both sitesComment

Then I would file the prior year returns, and when the time comes (or even submit with the filing) a penalty abatement request explaining the "reasonable cause" exception.
