Bus client was not aware he needed to mail out 1099-misc, now what?

Business client was not aware and neither was Bus bookkeeper, Bus needed to issue 1099-misc. 2015 would be the first year. I tried to chat with my 1099 vendor I use and I think they went on vacation. My guess is this Bus still needs to file the 1099-misc even if Bus missed the postmark date. Your comments please.

Mail them out as soon as feasible. The federal and state filing deadline has not yet been missed.

      Isn't the Fed deadline March 31, 2016?

        Fed deadline

If the Federal Copy A is filed electronically, the deadline is 3/31 otherwise it is 2/28.
I would put a favorite quote in here, but it would get me banned from the board.

Some states have moved up deadlines to 31 January, so file ASAP. The penalties are usually less for 30 days late and really climb after 60/90 or more days late.
