Advance Premium Tax Credit not allowed (payback) & medical expense deduction?

Taxpayer has her 1095-A and it has the advanced premium tax credit on there. Of course her income went way up due to an IRA withdrawl so she has to payback her PTC. So that amount that she pays back thru her tax return right now, can it be added to medical expense on this 2015 tax return? She is claiming the amount she actually paid which is the difference between the amounts in Column A and Column C. If she didn't take the ADVANCED Premium Tax Credit she would have gotten to take it all on Sch A as medical insurance paid.

I know I ran into this situation last year, but I can't remember what was determined on this issue.

That's what I would do. There was discussion of this a little in http://forum.thetaxbook.com/showthre...claim-of-right
