    Law student EITC

My niece (age 25 in 2014) will graduate from law school in May. During 2014 she made ~$7,200 working in the summer recess.

I go to prepare her return and am surprised. She is not a qualifying child and, because of her income level, she is not a qualifying relative. When I prepare her return, voila, an EITC of ~$500. I'm surprised a full-time law student would qualify for the EITC. I haven't done an EITC client ever before, even though I am long-in-the-tooth, but this is my niece.

    Am I missing something here?

It's like Christmas ... nine months early this year, isn't it?

I had a student in law school that qualified for EIC.
