    Drake software

Is anyone else having issues with the Drake Software automatically calculating the penalty exemption "A". Taxpayer meets the requirements but in filling out the Drake worksheets for the 8965, Drake does not calculate correctly so they are advising me to use the override. I understand that I CAN use the override, but it is a little frustrating that the program does not work properly and the programmers don't correct in a timely fashion.

I talked to tech support about this, and they advised me to take the following steps:

    Click Setup
    Click Options
    Click Administrative Options

and uncheck the box that says "Nothing ever works right"

Last year when certain forms were not working right in January, one of my colleagues suggested that we change the date on the computer to February 28.

He figured since there are usually glitches in the tax software during the first couple weeks of tax season, that if we could just fool the program into thinking that it was late February...

        Never mind.
